A token is a point, and that is all
You earn it by using LangX the way it is meant to be used — talking to somebody and helping
them — and you spend it on a streak freeze, a missed day, or something cosmetic. That is the
whole loop. It is not a currency, it is not an investment, and there is nothing to buy.
How you earn them
Teaching is weighted higher than talking, because it is the harder thing to ask of somebody.
- Send a message 1
- Correct someone else's sentence 10
- Answer a pronunciation request with a recording 10
- First conversation where both of you have spoken 15
The ceilings
They exist so that grinding does not beat taking part.
- Up to 200 tokens a day from messages.
- At most 60 of those from any one person, so it takes four partners to reach the ceiling and talking to one all day is not a strategy.
- A shared daily pool of 10,000 tokens is split between that day’s active users, in proportion to how active they were. No one can take more than 5% of it.
The hourly gift
A small gift every hour, for free. Most hold a handful of tokens — about a third are empty and nine in ten hold 30 or fewer — and a few hold more. It never counts toward a leaderboard.
- How often Once an hour
- What is inside 0 – 250 tokens
Streaks pay
Come back day after day and the milestones pay out. Nothing is deducted for missing one —
the streak just stops, and a freeze is what rescues it.
- Day 7 +50
- Day 30 +250
- Day 100 +1,000
- Day 180 +1,500
- Day 365 +5,000
- Day 730 +12,000
- Day 1,095 +25,000
What you can spend them on
Streak freeze 200 tokens
Rescues one missed day. You can bank two at a time.
Fill in a missed day 600 tokens
Fills one empty square on your activity map, within the last 14 days. Two a month, and never today — today is earned.
Frames and titles 1,000 – 100,000 tokens
Cosmetic only: ten avatar frames from Slate to Aurora, and ten titles from Beginner to Legend.
What a token is not
v1 shipped LangX Token wrapped in wallets, a token leaderboard and a litepaper describing
something tradable and eventually listed. The name stays. The trading does not. Every line below is a promise, not a disclaimer:
- It cannot be bought — there is no way to purchase tokens, with money or anything else.
- It cannot be sold, traded or staked. There is no exchange, no market, no marketplace, and none is planned.
- It cannot be sent to another user.
- It cannot be withdrawn. It does not leave the app.
- It is not on a blockchain. There is no chain, no contract, no wallet address.
- It cannot unlock a paid plan. Those are subscriptions; tokens buy none of them.
If you had a balance in v1
It carries over, credited at 1:100, plus a flat
250-token welcome-back bonus once your profile is restored.
The two economies were never on the same scale, and dividing is what keeps the leaderboard
something a new person can still climb.
The reasoning is on the welcome-back page.
Where these numbers come from
Every rate and ceiling above is mirrored from the app's own source, so the page and the app
cannot drift apart. Everything that is not a rule — the model, its history, the reasoning —
lives at
token.langx.io.
These are starting values
Every number here is marked as a starting value in the app's own source, and is expected to
move once there is real activity data to set it against. We would rather show them now and
change them in the open than wait until they are final, because they may never be. This page
moves when they do.
